Sunny Side

So much for my idea of this being a weekly thing! I'm even long past it being a monthly thing! But hopefully as life gets into a routine, I can carve time to write make it more frequent. Nonetheless, here it goes...

Loving Hans Zimmer's new soundtrack from The Dark Knight (which I have yet to see!)

Watching the Redskins win their first 3 playoff games.

Feeling bubbly at the World of Coca-Cola.

My parents incredible generosity.

My man who keeps me balanced, encourages me, and prays for me.

Starting school with my children.

Seeing my youngest take off on a new level with reading.

Opening the windows and enjoying the past few breezy days.

Running with a mom from Big B's football team and enjoying our talk.

Seeing God's majesty in nature.

Enjoying our time spent with family in Virginia.

The taste of homegrown tomatoes.

Finding great deals on cute clothes for my kids at a consignment sale.

Seeing "bambi" in our backyard!
Hearing my children practice their piano and guitar.

The taste of Edy's mint chocolate chip ice cream.

The thought of rain coming our way this week.

For His abundant grace and never failing love.

The count down begins...

This may not really be worth much to those who read this blog, but since I am passionate about the Redskins, and tend to write about them here, I feel it's blog worthy material! Last night, my man sent me this excellent article on Coach Zorn. The more I read about him, the more I am so impressed. My man put it best:
"It is definitely nice to have coaches and players on your favorite team who you can admire as people and for their character rather than just for their extraordinary abilities."
The Redskins and it's fans are so blessed to have him!

Another bonus... This morning, I received an email from the Washington Redskins Newsletter and found out I now have something else to consume my time - The Redskins Blog.

13 more days for Pre-Season games...
45 more days for the 2008 Season to start!
GO SKINS!!

They're back...

I'm not happy about this... This morning my man was on the back patio doing something and he yelled out "black widow". We all ran to his attention and sure enough there on the patio was a tiny black widow. And I mean tiny. I had not seen one this small, and wow, was it fast. It tried to hide in our back door mat - yikes. So, I took a quick picture. Then I tapped the mat and it aggressively ran out from the mat, fast. Yikes. So then I took another picture of it, then smashed it. It was not in a dark or moist place when my man saw it. That can't be good!

That's my pinkie finger...
Before it's last breath...

Sunny Side

I decided to start a weekly list of things I am thankful for and call it "Sunny Side". I've always loved that song... it makes me so thankful and what better to do than think sunny things. So, here it goes...

Saving 10 cents a gallon on gas with the Kroger card...

That we were able to get our house painted...

Making memories at the lake...

For sunny skies...

For much needed rain...
That my children have been so healthy...

For my cat's soothing purr...

For spending the 4th of July at home for the first year and having our own fun filled fireworks show...
Having my cousin's son here for 6 weeks and that he made it home safely - flying alone...

Starting school with the kids - slowly...

For my 5 senses...

The smell of freshly baked Banana Bread...

That my man prays for me before he leaves for work...

Seeing people smile at our yard sale today...

That my children had fun with their Donuts and Kool Aid stand today...
